Representing 250 credit unions with $83 billion in assets and 7 million members, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU) is the trade association for Alabama and Florida credit unions. It provides advocacy, compliance support, education, training, and information with relevant services and business strategies to support its members in fulfilling their mission. Therefore, our mission is to ensure an operating environment that enables credit unions to grow and succeed. Our Product Development Department is instrumental in how we strive to accomplish our mission.

Working for the LSCU & Affiliates, the successful Product Development Manager candidate will work to identify and develop new product opportunities and product enhancements for CU Service Centers to offer to credit unions and their members.

Description of Duties:

 

  • Identify and research the feasibility of new products and services with the intent of developing and implementing a go-to-market business plan for CU Service Centers to offer credit unions and their members.
  • Become the subject matter expert on all existing and new products and services; act as liaison between CU Service Centers and partner during the implementation phase of introducing or enhancing a product/service.
  • Complete projected cost and revenue analysis for proposed innovations including return on investment, budgets, and required funding.
  • Identify technical specifications and system requirements for all proposed innovations.
  • Become product champion for new innovations, working collaboratively with Marketing, CU Service Centers, and Business Development Consultants to develop strategies for short and long-term product success.
  • Continuously gather, communicate, and interpret key trends in the credit union industry, including relevant changes to technology, regulations, usage patterns, and demographics.
  • Gather information and data from credit unions on product and service needs; utilize software tools for polling and surveying member needs; assemble and analyze resulting data.
  • Conduct other research for the benefit of CU Service Centers in support of the company's strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

The selected candidate will posses, at a minimum, the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in the financial services industry and/or a research role.
  • Expertise in research and investigative techniques.
  • Knowledge of credit unions, including operations, lending, collections, transactions, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a Microsoft Office environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, credit union members, and outside business-related contacts.
  • Mathematical skills required (calculations, projections, functions, and statistics).
  • High degree of analytical skills.
  • Good editing and proofing skills;
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to a diverse range of audiences and settings.
  • Resourceful and well organized with the ability to compile and maintain complex and extensive records.
  • Ability to work effectively with little instruction or supervision, and set priorities for work to be completed by established deadlines.
  • Demonstrate good reasoning skills and the ability to use sound judgment.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner treating team members, partners and credit union clients with integrity and respect.
  • High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an environment of changing priorities and within timelines;
  • Comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of history, development, and philosophy of credit union movement.

Occasional travel, including airline, may be required. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs and sit for extended periods of time at a computer using repetitive key strokes. Some bending and stretching will also be required.
