Representing more than 333 credit unions with more than $120+ billion in assets and more than 10.1 million members, the League of Southeastern Credit Unions & Affiliates (LSCU) is the trade association for Alabama, Florida, and Georgia credit unions. We provide advocacy, compliance support, education, training, and information with relevant services and business strategies to support our members in fulfilling their mission. LEVERAGE, the for-profit affiliate of the LSCU, provides best-in-class products and services for credit unions across the country. 


The Compliance Consultant will serve as a consultant to credit unions in the LSCU footprint that have signed up for shared compliance services helping them maintain compliance with the products, services and programs specific to their credit unions. Develops and maintains a relationship with the proper credit union management personnel within the credit unions to provide the customize service needed at each credit union.


  1. Work to increase penetration and usage of the shared compliance program among credit unions in the LSCU footprint.
  2. Build and maintain working relationship with senior management of credit unions in the shared compliance program.
  3. Plan and execute a compliance program for credit unions in the shared compliance program.
  4. Work to increase penetration and usage of the LSCU compliance management system among credit unions in the LSU footprint.
  5. Provide regulatory training programs to chapters and credit unions in the LSCU footprint.
  6. Maintain files of legal opinions, rules, regulations, and other resource materials necessary for answering credit union operational questions.
  7. Research questions from credit unions that can be answered through League resource materials, retained counsel, regulatory agencies, or other outside resources.
  8. Participate in and provide information for compliance calls, meetings and publications.
  9. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


  1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in finance, communications, public administration or closely related field preferred.
  2. At least five (5) years of related experience with a broad knowledge of financial institution compliance issues, business, finance, and financial institution operations.
  3. Ability to work effectively in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  4. Superior oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and credit union staff.
  6. Must be able to work independently, take initiative, be flexible with change, and make sound decisions, sometimes under strict deadlines.
  7. Understand and follow a wide range of practices and complex instructions.
  8. Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist (BSACS) and Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certifications desirable, but not required.
  9. Knowledge and understanding of history, development, and philosophy of credit union movement.


  1. Extensive travel possible, mainly within Florida, Georgia and Alabama.
  2. After-hours and occasional weekend work is anticipated.
  3. Valid driver's license is required.
  4. Airline travel is required.
